After being trained in violin making and achieving the title
of master craftsman, Herbert-Rainer Knobel founded the double bass studio
in 1981.
Since the first days his wife Christine Knobel has been
working there as well: She started working in the office and the sales part
and – after being trained by her husband in violin making – she
also helped out in the repair studio.
The first floor in Hehlentorstraße 20 in Celle turned out to
be the perfect location: it is easily accessible by car and on foot (because
it is located at the outer circle of the city centre) and at the same time
the historical background of the house create a warm and charming
atmosphere. The traditional and homely furniture fits in perfectly there
and it is highly appreciated by all our guests and customers.
Our highly qualified staff called Michelle Stemann and
Viktor Bach have been trained in violin making by Herbert-Rainer Knobel and
worked with him together many years.
Since Mr. Knobel passed away on 21 Semptember 2006, Christine Knobel has
been in charge of the studio, working together with her long-time
employees.
